Center Introduction

The Macao Montessori Nursery Center adheres to the spirit of Montessori philosophy, loves children, respects children, nurtures children in a scientific way, and guides parents and other caregivers to prepare themselves, to nurture the next generation easily and effectively. The future masters of Macao can develop a variety of physical and mental abilities, including independence, concentration, willpower, intelligence, creativity, stable emotions, social skills and the initiative to serve the community.

The nursery classes are divided by age, with the Little Beetles for 12 months to 2.5 years old and the Big Pelicans for children over 2.5 years old. The full Montessori classrooms offer authentic Montessori learning environments to the children, and embrace important components including Chinese and English storytelling, Orff music, monthly theme teaching, sensory integration activities and lunch preparation and lunch.

Montessori work period: Adequate working hours allow us to grasp and make the best of the different sensitive periods of the children, and the children can get the best full-scale development opportunities in the Montessori learning environment;

Chinese and English story telling: The story time is in both Chinese and English, administered by teachers whose native language is Chinese or English. They use the correct method to infuse the children with bilingual skills, and story times are supplemented by Orff music in order to increase the interest and sensitivity to music among the children. Orff music is originated in Germany, and it mainly include rhythm, singing, instrumental ensemble, percussion, improvisation and so on to cultivate rhythm among the children and allow them to experience the fun of music. It is a great way to open the children's artistic vision.

Sensory integration activities: sensory integration activities allow the children to optimize communication between their different senses and their brains. This is vital for the development of the children's ability to learn and control their emotions. These activities also promote the children's five senses (eyes, ears, mouth, nose, skin), vestibular balance (balance) and proprioceptive sense (the sense of muscles, joints) and enhance their cooperation. The sensory integration activities are catered to children of different ages.

Lunch: The children's participation in meal preparations help to equip them with vital life skills, and more importantly, build up their confidence, concentration and body coordination during the procedures.
